“MACRONET” JSC was founded in 1993. The company started with the successful development and production of private solid state electricity meters and constructed automated systems for energy management - remote meter reading and tariff control, based on communication through middle and low voltage electricity distribution networks.

Since 2000 “MACRONET” JSC has been the Bulgarian representative of the largest English manufacturer of solid state electricity meters “AMPY AUTOMATION DIGILOG” Ltd., and from 2004 till 2006 the company has been an authorized representative of LANDIS+GYR Switzerland (a world leader in the production of electronic measurement devices and equipment), becoming one of the most successful providers of solid state and electromechanical electricity meters and systems for energetic management and remote reading.

“MACRONET” JSC was granted the Honorary Certificate for its developments and products at the International Plovdiv Fair in 1998. Macronet JSC’s business activities quickly extended to engineering and consulting for the hi-tech field.

From 2004 “MACRONET” JSC has turned its attention to renewable energy sources and energy conservation. Since 2005 the company has invested in and managed the first and the largest central heating biomass plant on the Balkans in Bansko - one of the most famous ski resorts in Bulgaria and the region. The 10 MW wood chips biomass heating plant and the heat-transport network are in operation since 2007. The project was financed from EBRD and the Enterprise for Management of Environmental Protection Activities. The project is supported by the Municipality of Bansko and has been awarded many local and European prizes. As a proven and reliable partner “MACRONET” JSC received the municipality’s approval for the development of an integrated energy project. The main company goal is the implementation of innovative solutions in energy management and the use of renewable energy sources.
